Card Tutorial - Emboss Resist with Ink Blending
The emboss resist technique is always fun and eye catching, and today I have done some rainbow striped ink blending to add extra interest to this technique.
I started by stamping the floral image from the Altenew Fairy Tale Florals stamp set onto a piece of white card in Versamark ink, and heat set with white embossing powder.
I then took a 1' strip of masking paper and starting from the top I masked off and ink blended using a blending brush, with each colour working my way down to the bottom in rainbow order, making sure to leave a little white space between each layer.
The colours I used were Altenew Inks in Mango Smoothie, Caramel Toffee, Coral Berry, Lavender Fields, Winter Lake, Caribbean Sky and Mountain Mist. Distress Inks or any other dye ink would work for this technique. I also splattered some Altenew Pearl Gold watercolour and white ink onto the panel. Gold acrylic paint or ink would also work for this.
I then trimmed the panel down and mounted it onto a black top folding card.
To create the sentiment I die-cut the Altenew Handwritten Hello die twice from white cardstock and once from gold card and layered them together, using liquid glue to attach them to my card.
To complete the card I added some gold jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.
